I am still in scanlation working at my old “group” (a solo operation now ^^) at Shoujo Yume if you’d like to see what I’m up to.

What does this mean for our scanlations? Not a lot, actually. For those who have been looking at the raws/reading the LQ releases of other people, you’ll probably be able to find Chinese raws of the chapter online soon after its publication, perhaps even in Japanese, but we’re not scanlating from LQ scans. We are, as I have said many times, going to wait until Volume 5 comes out, and do it all in HQ then. We don’t know when Volume 5 comes out, nor when somebody will scan it and upload it to the internet, so we don’t know when we’re going to be able to release more chapters yet.

PLEASE, if you have questions LOOK THROUGH THE OLD POSTS! It is very, VERY likely your answer is sitting there somewhere, and to be honest I’m tired of answering the same questions over and over again. x.samui and I are very busy what with Christmas and exams coming up, and of course school takes a priority here, so we might not update for a while. Please be patient with us until Volume 5 comes out and don’t go too crazy waiting for Jan 4th!! Happy holidays, everyone.

You can also see when the next issue will be out by looking at the upper right corner. (It’s about 2 weeks between each issue).  To the right of where it says “No 22 (or whatever the issue number is)”, there is the date for when the issue will be out, and thus when the website will be updated to show what’s in the issue after that. １０月２０日 simply means the 20th day of the 10th month (October!).  See, Japanese isn’t too hard, huh?

x.samui and I have decided we will not be picking up another project because we’re waaaay too busy. (It’s a bit cruel to only release a chapter every few months ^^) But we’ll keep you updated on Hadashi and will carry on with it when it’s back from hiatus.

EDIT: to clarify, I never meant I’m giving up on scanlating Hadashi, I meant I’ve given up flaming people who’ve been scanlating the chapters in LQ, like c28 and c29, since there’s nothing I can do about it. I will still scanlate these chapters in HQ when volume 5 comes out. Let me just make it clear that though I may concede defeat in terms of LQ chapters (as many have said, they’re not trying to “compete” with me, just as I was not trying to compete with Starry Heaven before they dropped the series), Hadashi is still my project and I will not be at all happy should anyone scanlate future chapters in HQ. It’s called common courtesy and, though I’m not surprised to find so many people lacking it on the internet, it seems to be to my misfortune that all those people seem to be fans of Hadashi, and all seem to suffer from some insatiable impatience for this manga.

Anyway, here are the reasons why I am not picking up any of the project  suggestions:

Tail of the Moon
Viz released all 15 volumes of it already, I’ve got them all lined up in my room, so it would just be a waste of time. Sorry if you can’t get them where you are but I’ve got no interest in scanlating this.

Black Bird
Viz already started publishing this too, and I don’t like the series much anyway.

Hapi Mari
As some other sensible person pointed out, this project is far from dead (Aerandria Scans and Midnight Scans just released a chapter recently) and I’m not that fond of it anyway. Aerandria + Midnight are doing a great job so go read their releases.

B.O.D.Y
Again, being published by Viz, I have no interest in scanlating this. I don’t like it that much anyway.

Her Majesty’s Dog
Go!Comi already finished publishing this one too.

Megane Ouji
This manga is a bit of a meh.

I’m not actually that much against scanlating a licensed series, but only if I like the series a lot and preferably if no books have been published in English yet (just like Hadashi.)

Anyway, series I haven’t made a judgement on include Ryo and Chou yo Hana yo, I haven’t read these yet.

I’ll keep you updated.

The last chapter of the marathon. Phew. (I’m so annoyed at this chapter, Souichirou is a moron!)

I translated the teasers for Volume 5 at the end of this volume since it may be a while until it comes out. (I normally freak out when I see a big block of text, but it’s not so bad ^_^ I have to say I’m really looking forward to the next volume.)

It does say Volume 5 is scheduled for release in “Fall 2009″, but because of the hiatus, I’m not sure if that’s still true (it’s possible, but depends on the length of hiatus after all…). Indeed, x.samui and I have been doing some research to try and draw some conclusions as to when we can expect volume 5 to be published, but it’s all quite wobbly and speculative (not to mention long-winded) so I’ll publish that post on another day. Meanwhile we’ll haunt all our sources of information and keep you all updated.

To clarify: we will scanlate C27 in low quality, but for all the other chapters we’ll wait for Volume 5 for the HQ scans (and do C27 in HQ too.)

Thank you for suggestions for new projects, please keep them coming. Hopefully C27 will be out soon, too.

Oh my god, HOW DARE YOU TRY AND SET UP KOMAI!! This is the last straw, Keiko!! (Any sane person would’ve fired her chapters ago… so frustrating.)

Last chapter of the marathon tomorrow. I will scanlate c27 in LQ after this but it might take a while cos of school. Meanwhile I’m not going to scanlate c28-31 until I can get HQ scans, the Chinese ones are appalling (and I’d rather work off Japanese tbh). So it may be that it will be a very long wait, depending on how soon Volume 5 comes out. Forgive me ^^ Anyway, x.samui and I are not opposed to picking up another series, please see the contact page if you want to suggest a new project for us… there are certain conditions.

Forgive the delay. I thought I’d be quick cos I did the translation yesterday… I didn’t notice the amount of cloning I’d have to do. (Cloning is the bane of my existence.) Hopefully the last two chapters of the marathon will be up earlier, but I start school again on Monday et il faut que je fasse mes devoirs >_>

Anyway, this chapter is insane! I feel so sorry for Miu… There’s some Sumi + Souichirou fluff, too.

Ummm, new poll, I wanted to do “What is your first language?” but there are so many languages, I couldn’t possibly know the extent to which you guys might differ in native language, so… I gave up. It seemed pretty likely that I’d write all the big ones like French, English, Spanish etc., and then everybody else would be lumped in with “Other”.

This is a HQ version of the c22 I released a while back, there are a few minor translation changes (very, veeery minor) but it’s worth downloading this one just for the improved scans. I’ll be removing the old c22 post so people don’t download the LQ release anymore.
